A MESSAGE on the occasion of the prayerful preparation for the dedication to the Mercy of God and the Immaculate Heart of Mary of the Minsk-Mogilev Metropolitanate in the 2025th anniversary year of Christianity
Your Excesses, dear clergy, venerable monastic persons, any believers of the Minsk-Mogilev metropolia! The pastoral year 2023-2024 in the church in Belarus was dedicated to the gratitude of the Mother of God for her tireless care of our country and for the generosity of the mercies received, and also became the year of the redemption of the Most Holy Heart of Jesus and the preparation for the dedication of our Church in Belarus to him.
This historic event took place on July 6th. It was during the celebration of the Mother of God Budslavskaya, the patroness of Belarus, that the enthronement of the Most Holy Heart of Jesus was performed. The dedication of the Catholic Church in Belarus to the Sacred Heart of Jesus became gratitude for the graces received, atonement and propitiation for sins committed, and a request for strengthening faith and love. So, the first important step has been taken, indicating that we care about our eternity. And now all of us — bishops, presbyters, monastics, participants in religious movements, believers of all ages, and especially our young people, are obliged to take the following dynamic step: to begin to fulfill what we promised to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. First, we must try to be faithful to Christ and, with the help of the Most Holy Mother, go to holiness. And this will help us with the account of conscience (preferably monthly), participation in the Eucharist, worship of the holy gifts, reading the Holy Scriptures, spiritual exercises. Secondly, it is necessary to observe those practices of mercy that our Savior asks for: prayer on the first Thursday of the month, on the first Friday and on the first Saturday, as well as dedicate yourself, your family (who has not yet done this) To the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to become his worshippers.
The Holy Capital declared the next year 2025 a Holy Year, giving certain privileges by a special decree (you can get acquainted with them on Catholic Internet pages catholicminsk.by , catholic.by , ave-maria.by The purpose of each anniversary of Christianity is to revitalize and deepen our faith, to help people find Christ, to make sense of their lives and to recognize the mission that God assigns to each of us. Thanks to the preparations for this anniversary, we must become more aware of the main essence of Christianity, which consists in God's love and mercy, which "leaves the Most Holy Heart of Jesus." Thus, next year will be for us a kind of continuation of the year of mercy of the Most Holy Heart of Jesus, "for the Lord has mercy and his atonement is generous" (Ps 130)"
My dear ones, the year 2025 will be a reminder for all of us of God's infinite mercy, because next year marks the 90th anniversary of a special prayer-a request to God-a wreath to God's Mercy, which was approached by St. S. Faustina by Jesus himself, encouraging him to pray to save sinners. Thanks to the prayer of the corolla, as the Lord Jesus said to S. Faustina, God's wrath is appeased and necessary and generous graces are shed. Saint Faustina, who turns 120 years old next year, writes in her diary how Jesus emphasized: "Say that mercy is the greatest attribute of God... humanity will not find peace until it turns to my mercy with confidence..." (Acts 300-301). Therefore, we try to resort to this prayer as often as possible as a "filling of God's boundless Mercy", which is a source of hope and tranquility. Worried about the fate of the world, Pope John Paul II wrote back in 1980: "the necessity of these crucial and difficult times requires once again to reveal in that very Christ the face of the Father, who is the father of mercy and the God of all consolation" (Dives in misericordia, 1)"
Therefore, realizing the dangerous challenges of our time and moving towards the jubilee year of Christianity, on the initiative of our archdiocese, from October 5, 2024 to June 7, 2025, it is planned to conduct prayer preparations for the dedication of the Minsk-Mogilev Metropolia, the entire Catholic church in Belarus of God's Mercy and the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the National Sanctuary in Budslav.
The main day intended for the joint celebration of the Eucharist and divine services to God's Mercy will be every first Saturday of the month during the entire period of preparation for the celebration at the National Sanctuary in Budslaw, which will take place on July 5, 2025.
Dear brothers and sisters!I sincerely invite and encourage monastic, religious communities and movements, any youth and all believers to this prayer event, during which we will thank Christianity for 2025 and forgive God for the sins of the world. Through divine worship to God's Mercy, we will ask the merciful God for mercy for the world and our country, for all of us, our families and communities, we will ask for peace in the world, trusting him with the fate of the world and the fate of every person. I encourage all believers to spread the cult of God's Mercy, because certain promises of Christ are connected with it: "souls who expand reverence for my mercy, I guard all my life like a sensitive mother of her baby, and in the hour of death I will not be a judge for them, but a merciful Savior" (Acts 1075).
The essence of the cult of God's Mercy is Christian trust in the Lord God and effective love for others. The Lord Jesus desires trust from his creatures (Acts 1059) and the performance of works of mercy: by deed, word, or prayer. "You must always and everywhere show mercy to your neighbors," he tells S. Faustina, "you cannot evade it, nor renounce it, nor renounce it" (Acts 742). Christ wants his worshippers to continue to be everywhere, at least one thing of loving one's neighbor out of love for him. Spreading the worship of God's Mercy does not require many words, but always a Christian position of faith, trust in God and the desire to be more merciful. Sister Faustina gave an example of such apostolate in her life. Beloved brothers and sisters, we realize that only God can change the course of our history, stop the spread of the civilization of death, awaken in people the desire to build a new, better world that will please the Most Holy Trinity. Therefore, in the words of St. S. Faustina, we ask the Lord God: "Father primordial, look with the eye of mercy especially at poor sinners and at all mankind, hidden in the most merciful Heart of Jesus, and for the sake of his sorrowful torment, show us Your mercy so that we glorify the omnipotence of Your mercy forever and ever" (Acts 1211).
For the time of prayerful preparation for the dedication to God's Mercy and the Immaculate Heart of the Archdiocese of Maryimino-Mogilev, I wholeheartedly bless.+ In the name of the Father + and the Son + and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
